Helpful Hints for dealing with common pests

Termites

        If you think you have termites or see evidence of termite activity, you need to do several things

1) Make sure that they are termites and not something else

2) Determine if the infestation is active

3) Find a reliable Pest Control Company who will do an inspection in your presence who will explain their findings.

        In Northeast Ohio , we have many species of stinging insects including yellowjackets, baldfaced hornets, paper wasps, and various bees who like to live on or near houses. Some of these stinging insects can be controlled by over-the-counter products which can be purchased at local hardware stores. It is important to follow the directions carefully, especially when treating big nests of yellowjackets and bald-faced hornets. Both can be very aggressive if provoked.   

    Over-the-counter products can be useful where there are a few nests that are easily  accessible. Often, there are too many nests in an area for effective, long-lasting control. A power spray is a very effective strategy for treating a heavily infested area when the insects are building their nests.
